'Forth' has a cylindrical metal core, crowned by a cruciform structure that recalls both a plug and a propeller, and is surrounded by roughly hewn sections of Pennsylvania granite. Broad at the base and tapered toward the top, the stone slabs attempt to encase the machine-made steel elements, creating a dynamic tension between upwards propulsion and gravitational pull, compression and expansion, positive and negative masses.
